Meet Danielle
Welcome! My name is Danielle and I have been working with people (and their bodies) since 2013. I did my first yoga teacher training in 2012 in the cloud forest of Costa Rica. It was me, one other student, Morgan, and our two teachers, Irum and Joann. We did yoga in the shala over the river in the morning, ate organic food that was grown on the ranch and sat around Irum’s living room in the evenings and discussed the dharma (yoga teachings). I didn’t know that those 4 magical, humid weeks would set the course for my professional life. But, here I am.
Since then, I have just kept learning. I have done many trainings and certifications in yoga, anatomy, massage, movement, etc. Luckily, they are tax write offs because I spend boatloads of money learning. The more I learn about bodies, the harder it becomes to stay in one particular lane when I am working with a client. I find the most magical sessions happen when I chat with a client at the beginning of a session to get a sense of what’s been happening for them in their body, in their life, their nervous system, what their goals are, etc. and we work together to figure out what combination of modalities is best going to serve them in that moment. I aim to educate my clients about their bodies and find I do the best work when it is collaborative - the more you know about your own body and can tell me, the better we can work together. It’s fun and so, so rewarding. I truly love my work. Thank you for letting me do it.
When I’m not working with fascia or teaching asana etc, I try to spend as much time as I can up in Maine, tending to my 6 acres of land and staying in my incredible, Thai-inspired tiny house that my dad built. (It’s also an Airbnb. You should stay in it. It’s amazing). I have two cats, Honey and Rufus, who love each other more than they love me. It’s fine. I’m not jealous. I also spend a lot of time tending to myself and to my own body so I can take better care of my clients. I see my massage therapist, acupuncturist, therapist, chiropractor… regularly. I also run with my amazing run crew, Pioneers, go to the gym, do yoga, train for marathons, sleep/dream, meditate, play guitar and sing and write songs and recently started working with plant medicine (which has honestly been my biggest teacher and I hope to bring this into my work someday). Thank you for reading. I look forward to working with you soon!
