I am delighted to be joining the Teacher Training faculty at Down Under School of Yoga this spring! If you are ready to make a powerful shift in your life, whether you want to become a yoga teacher, advance your own personal practice, or join a community of students on a quest for transformation, the Down Under School of Yoga 200-Hour Teacher Training is the beginning of your journey. This foundational training will advance your practice, provide you the fundamental tools for teaching yoga, awaken your voice in all aspects of life and leadership, and connect you to a vibrant community of mentors, scholars, and fellow seekers on the path of learning and self-study.
ASANA & ALIGNMENT: Discover the principles of physical alignment, the energetic and subtle body, and the foundation behind all the major yoga postures.
TEACHING METHODOLOGY: Through a cumulative, strategic, and experiential approach, learn about the other side of the practice: the teaching.
SEQUENCING & PRACTICUM: Learn the nuanced art of logical, dynamic sequencing, and precise languaging as you build confidence through practice teaching, observation, and receiving feedback.
ANATOMY & PHYSIOLOGY: Focus on principles of anatomy, the skeletomuscular system, joint movement, and understand basic Eastern energy systems as they relate to yoga.
ASSISTING & MODIFICATIONS: Utilize critical thinking to assess postures, understand injuries, work with different kinds of bodies, understand the use of props, and practice hands-on adjustments.
PHILOSOPHY & SANSKRIT: Demystify ancient texts, begin to learn Sanskrit, and articulate yoga philosophy while understanding it from a contemporary context.
BUSINESS & ETHICS: Navigate the business of yoga to begin a practical and successful career as you explore the ethics of the modern-day yogi.
LINEAGE & HISTORY: Examine different lineages of yoga including Vinyasa, Ashtanga, and Restorative and explore the limbs of yoga including Pranayama and Meditation.
The training will take place at Down Under Yoga in Brookline, Fridays 7:30pm–9:30pm, Saturdays & Sundays 1:30pm–7:30pm on the following dates in 2019:

COST & INVESTMENT
Deliberately designed to be affordable to yogis of all ages, the training costs $3,200. Cost also includes attendance at an Art of Assisting weekend workshop.
